SignMail

Overview

SignMail lets you view videos received from both hearing callers through SVRS and from other deaf Sorenson users.

To Turn On the Feature

This SignMail feature is enabled by default and no action needs to be taken on your part to enable it. If you do not see the feature, please contact us.

To Change the Greeting Message

  1. Start at the Home screen
  2. Select SignMail
  3. Select Set Greeting Message
    • The Sorenson greeting message is selected by default. The other options are:
      • Personal greeting
      • Text only
      • No greeting
  4. Select Done

How do I send SignMail alerts to email address(es)?

  1. Start at the Home screen
  2. Select Settings
  3. Select Controls
    • You may need to select General otherwise go to #4
  4. Check the Send me SignMail alerts? checkbox
  5. Select Send an alert to this email address
  6. Select Edit
  7. Enter email address(es)
  8. Select Done button
  9. Press the Home key on the remote control
    1. If applicable, select Ok
    2. Check your email for SignMail Account Verification
    3. Click on the link to verify activate your SignMail

Send Direct-Dial Call (Enhanced SignMail)

  1. Start at the Home screen.
  2. Select SignMail.
  3. Select New SignMail then choose an option:
    • All SignMails
    • Unwatched
    • Contacts
    • Call History
    • Favorites
    • Dialer

Troubleshooting SignMail

  • SignMail icon/light is not displayed on Remote Camera Unit (RCU)
    1. Start at the Home screen
    2. Select Setting
    3. Select Device Options
    4. Select Privacy/Notifications
    5. Check Show SignMail and Missed Call notifications on my camera?
    6. Press the Home key on the remote control
  • The Mailbox Full error message appears when someone tries to leave me a SignMail
    • Check to make sure SignMail mailbox is not full. 
      • If it is full, please delete some SignMail videos to be able to receive SignMail
  • The "Call Disconnected" or "Call Could Not Be Completed" error message appears when someone tries to leave a SignMail
    • Check to make sure the phone number is not blocked in the phonebook.
  • The "Can't send a SignMail" error message appears when someone tries to leave a SignMail. 
    • This dialog reminds you that you cannot send a SignMail video message to hearing phone numbers or to third-party (non-Sorenson) numbers.
