Voice Carry Over (VCO)

Overview

ntouch VP2’s Voice Carry Over (VCO) calling feature gives you the option to make either 1-Line or 2-Line VCO calls. ntouch VP2 has two built-in microphones to provide improved audio quality for your 1-Line VCO calls.

Note: 1-Line VCO is not supported in the Public mode. 

Enable VCO

  1. Select Settings > Call Options > Voice Carry Over.
  2. Check the box for Turn on Voice Carry Over (VCO)? then choose an option:
    • 1-Line VCO
    • 2-Line VCO
      • If selected, enter a call back phone number of the voice telephone you will be using. 

Troubleshooting tips

  • The hearing person cannot hear me
    1. While in a call, turn on the microphone through the in-call menu.
      1. Bring up the in-call menu.
      2. If the microphone has a slash, that means it is off. Press OK on the microphone to remove the slash to turn it on.
    2. Ask the interpreter to disconnect and reconnect VCO.
    3. Ask to be transferred to a different interpreter.
  • I cannot hear the hearing person I am talking to
    1. Turn up the volume on TV, desktop computer, or mobile device.
    2. Ask the interpreter to disconnect and reconnect VCO.
    3. Ask to be transferred to a different interpreter.
  • VCO call does not automatically connect
    1. Enable VCO.
    2. Add a contact for the hearing person you are calling or is calling you.
    3. Edit the contact for that hearing person.
    4. Check the box labeled “Use VCO?” on their contact page.
  • The voice was dropped in the middle of a call
    • Ask the interpreter to reconnect VCO.
