The Voice (Simplified VCO) feature adds a new Microphone icon to both the Home and In-Call screen which you can use to turn ntouch Mobile's audio signal on or off either before or during a call. You can choose to use the Voice feature for only your point-to-point (P2P) calls or for both your P2P and your VRS calls. As part of this feature, the option to specify VCO for a specific contact record has been removed because it is no longer needed.


  • Customer may hear music when connecting VCO, it'll stop once the hearing person connected.

Enable Use Voice

  1. Select ntouch > Preferences > General.
  2. Check the box for Use Voice.
    • Additional options:
      • Check the box for Use voice for VRS calls to use voice during VRS calls.
      • Check the box for Use a different phone number for VRS Calls.
        1. If selected, enter a call back phone number of the voice telephone you will be using.

Troubleshooting tips

  • The person cannot hear me on the other end 
    • Turn on the microphone through the in-call menu or from home screen
    • Select the correct microphone in ntouch Mobile settings
    • Install required drivers for the microphone (USB camera or external microphone)
    • Configure the microphone as the primary input device in the OS settings
    • Check Privacy Settings in the Operating System to make sure ntouch has access to the Microphone.
  • I cannot hear the person on the other end  
    • Turn up the volume on the computer, speaker, or headset
    • Select the correct headset or speaker in ntouch Mobile settings
    • Install required drivers for the headset or speaker
    • Configure the headset or speaker as the primary output device in the OS settings
  • The other person cannot hear me on the other end
    1. On the Apple computer, click on Apple icon > System Preference > Security & Privacy > Microphone.
      • Make sure ntouch is checked and visible on the list. 
      • If ntouch is not visible, reinstall ntouch app then make a call, make sure you accept the permissions for microphone. 
    2. If the #1 step does not work, Install AppCleaner app then drag ntouch app to AppCleaner then reinstall ntouch app again and make call to accept the permissions for microphone.
