Voice Carry Over (VCO)

Overview

Voice Carry Over (VCO) calling feature gives you the option to make either 1-Line or 2-Line VCO calls

To Turn On the Feature

  1. Start at the Home screen
  2. Select ntouch on the menu bar
  3. Select Preferences
  4. Select General
  5. Check option for 1-line VCO or 2-line VCO:
    • 1-Line VCO: Check Use voice then check Use Voice for VRS Calls
    • 2-Line VCO: Check Use a different phone number for VRS Calls then enter a call back phone number of the voice phone you will be using
  6. Select Save

To Make a 1-Line VCO Call

  1. When the call is answered, the interpreter will see that you are making a VCO call. The interpreter will then call the hearing person
  2. When connected, you can speak to the person you called using your own voice.
  3. If you do not want to use VCO for any call, just tell the interpreter that you do not want to make a VCO call. The interpreter will not connect the voice call. Instead, the interpreter will place a regular SVRS call to the hearing number you dialed

To Make a 2-Line VCO Call

  1. When the call is answered, the interpreter will see that you are making a VCO call and will place a voice call to your Callback number. You must answer that voice call and then wait
  2. After you answer the voice call to your Callback number, the interpreter will then call the hearing person. When the hearing person answers, you can start speaking. The interpreter will sign the hearing person’s part of the conversation to you
  3. If you do not want to use VCO for any call, just tell the interpreter that you do not want to make a VCO call. The interpreter will not connect the voice call. Instead, the interpreter will place a regular SVRS call to the hearing number you dialed

Troubleshooting Tips

  • The voice was dropped in the middle of a call
    • The VI will be able to reconnect the call
